"The Five Mistakes That Can Wreck Your Florida Accident Case is a must read for anyone that has been injured in a accident in Florida!"

My case was handled courteously and professionally. All of my questions were answered promptly and I never felt anything I was concerned about was un-important. Judi always had answers and took the time to explain. She was always on top of my case when I called the office.

I really appreciated the fact that Mr. Dodson hired a professional expert to measure and make an evaluation about the place where I fell. The whole process was handled very well. Both Judi and Mr. Dodson were very nice and my experience working with them was professional.

I would recommend Jim Dodson to anyone I knew who was in need of a personal injury attorney.

"I recommend the Law Office of James Dodson.  They were always able and available when I had questions.  They even got me more than I expected right when I needed it most.  I am exceedingly grateful to have had this wonderful group of people helping and getting what we deserve."

Florida Fatal Car Accidents Frequently Caused by Failure to Yield Right of Way

Failure to yield the right of way is a frequent cause of fatal injuries in car accidents on Florida highways and roads. Florida Accident Lawyer Jim Dodson provides information published in the Florida Driver's Handbook (2009) on how to safety enter and exit a Florida Interstate highway or expressway to avoid car accidents and serious injuries or fatal injuries.

Vehicles can enter and leave expressways only at certain points. Because expressway traffic is usually moving at or close to the maximum speed allowed, you need to know how to enter and exit safely.

All expressway entrances have three basic parts: an entrance ramp, an acceleration lane, and a merging area.

Follow these guidelines to enter an expressway safely:

1. On the entrance ramp, begin checking for an opening in traffic. Signal for your turn.

2. As the ramp straightens into the acceleration lane, speed up. Try to adjust your speed so that you can move into the traffic when you reach the end of the acceleration lane.

3. Merge into traffic when you can do so safely. You must yield the right-of-way to traffic on the expressway. You cannot always count on other drivers moving over to give you room to enter, but do not stop on an acceleration lane unless traffic is too heavy and there is no space for you to enter safely.

Follow these guidelines when leaving an expressway:

1. Get into the exit lane. Posted signs will tell you which one. Most expressway exits are from the right lane.

2. Signal your intention to leave the expressway by using your turn signal.

3. Slow down as soon as you are off the expressway. Check the posted safe speed for the exit ramp.

4. Do not make last-minute turns into an exit. If you go past your exit, you must go to the next one.
