"The Five Mistakes That Can Wreck Your Florida Accident Case is a must read for anyone that has been injured in a accident in Florida!"

My case was handled courteously and professionally. All of my questions were answered promptly and I never felt anything I was concerned about was un-important. Judi always had answers and took the time to explain. She was always on top of my case when I called the office.

I really appreciated the fact that Mr. Dodson hired a professional expert to measure and make an evaluation about the place where I fell. The whole process was handled very well. Both Judi and Mr. Dodson were very nice and my experience working with them was professional.

I would recommend Jim Dodson to anyone I knew who was in need of a personal injury attorney.

"I recommend the Law Office of James Dodson.  They were always able and available when I had questions.  They even got me more than I expected right when I needed it most.  I am exceedingly grateful to have had this wonderful group of people helping and getting what we deserve."

Child Injury & Fireworks

  • Children are naturally drawn to fireworks. They are beautiful to watch and are intriguing to them. Children want to see them and handle them. Yet fireworks are a source of danger and cause serious injuries. Here are some surprising facts about fireworks related injuries: ( 2006, CDC, United States)

More than two-thirds of all fireworks related injuries occurred between June 16-July 16
One out of every three people injured were children under 15 years old
Young people under age 20 sustained nearly half of all firework injuries
The part of the body most often injured were hands, eyes, head, face and ear
More than half the injuries were burns
Eleven deaths were reported and 9200 people were treated in emergency rooms
Injuries were caused most often by firecrackers, sparklers, & rockets, sparklers caused one third of injuries to children under age 5

Many people fail to recognize the danger fireworks pose to those handling them and innocent bystanders. Fireworks are regulated by state and federal law. Yet, they are readily available. Adults purchase them despite specific restrictions. They are brought into Florida from adjoining states. During New Years and the Fourth of July, our neighborhoods are filled with the sights and sounds of these explosions.

There is geater danger to people and property when professional grade fireworks are handled by people with inadequate training and awareness of their danger. These powerful explosives pose a risk to motor vehicles and houses, as well as to on-lookers.
