I've heard of cases going to mediation, how does that work?
Mediation is a process that has met with much success. It involves an informal conference at which the parties appear with their lawyers before an impartial mediator. The role of the mediator is to try to get the parties to reach a voluntary settlement. Mediation may be conducted before a lawsuit is filed. Once a case is in litigation, a mediation is required prior to it being tried before a jury. We will fully discuss the mediation process with you as your case progresses.
