"I just wanted to thank Mr. Dodson and Judi for all that they did to help me with my case.
I recommend the Law Office of James Dodson. They were always able and available
A 2-year old child was killed Sunday afternoon while playing in front of his home in Bradenton. According to local news media reports, the child left the home unnoticed and was struck by a truck in the intersection of 61st Avenue West and 6th Street West.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at approximately 1:20 PM, the young boy, Eduardo Betanzo-Reyes was struck as he pushed his toy Jeep out into the roadway. The child was airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, where he was pronounced dead.
The National Safe Kids Campaign publishes research and statistics for consumers including an informative report discussing child pedestrian deaths from 1990-2000. The purpose is to inform parents and caregivers that they may take appropriate steps to protect their children. Certainly, my commentary is not intended to lay blame, only to provide additional information for parents that may read this.
No parent should experience what the Bentazo-Reyes family is going through, and our condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to the Bentazo-Reyes family, as well as Eduardo’s extended family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers also go out to the driver and his family
Although we at The Law Office of James W. Dodson, P.A., specialize in child injury cases, we are cognizant of the sensitive issues involved and merely comment on tragedies of this type to inform the public and hopefully prevent something like this from happening to another family.
