Tampa Cyclist Injured Out of State | Bicycle Injury Lawyer | Tampa
A local man, Ali Chehab, 26, of Tampa was out enjoying cycling with a group of friends in Wytheville, Virginia heading toward Rural Retreat when he was hit from behind by a pick-up truck driven by, Samuel Burcham.Burcham was charged at the scene for failing to yield and not providing proof of insurance. Chehab's friends were not in the area when the car/bicycle collision occurred so no one else was injured. He suffered head, neck and lower back injuries but fortunately, was wearing a helmet. Chehab was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. The Sheriff's Office, Fire Department and Rescue Team assisted at the scene of the wreck.
As a cycling enthusiast, I often find myself on those back roads enjoying the outdoors and the sights. It can be tempting to ride without a helmet, in certain situations, but you just never know when not wearing it could mean the difference between life or death. - It's always better to play it safe.....wear that helmet!
