When surveyed by AAA, a group of school children spoke out about why they wear a bike helmet.
Here's what they said:

* Because it looks cool and it keeps my head safe.
* Because I don't want to hurt my head like my cousin (who almost died in a bike accident)
* I wear my helmet most of the time because there is law about helmets.
* I wear my helmet all the time because 1) my parents make me and 2) I don't want to get any head injuries.
* I always wear them because they keep me and my brain safe
* I wear a helmet because I had a bike accident

The children also weighed in on what could happen if they were in a bicycle crash and were not wearing a helmet: Possible injuries they said that could happen in a bicycle collision included: brain damage, paralysis, death, crack their head open on the sidewalk, a broken neck and to be unconscious in a coma.
