I read an article in AAA recently that listed several hotels and resorts around the country and in Canada who offer the free use of bicycles to their guests.Mountain bikes, beach cruisers ---- even some gear, such as bike helmets and clothing--- if you forgot to pack something.
Beyond hotels, many cities are also joining the two-wheel movement. For instance, Chicago Greeters (chicagogreeters.com) offers a free tour of the city on bicycle May through October. Auburn, Alabama, (auburnalabama.org/bikeloaner) and Spartanburg, South Carolina, (active-living.org) have free bicycle lending programs. Typically you simply present a valid photo ID and fill out a waiver—and then you’re on your way.

Remember ---some basic bicycle riding safety tips and avoid needless injury:
*Wear a helmet-strapped snuggly to avoid slipping
*Be visible - wear reflective clothing when riding at night
*Obey the law- ride with traffic flow, obey traffic signals and rules of right of way
*Use bike paths when available
*Watch out for parked cars pulling out into traffic or entering streets from driveways
