Florida Seat Belt Law in Effect | Florida Auto Accident Attorney

Did you know that, nationally, about 20 percent of drivers don’t wear their seatbelts?

The Florida Highway Patrol is going to do their part to improve those statistics in the sunshine state. The new seat belt law will save 124 lives from fatal accidents each year, keep 1,700 people from serious injury in Florida auto accidents -- and save the state an estimated 400 million dollars in emergency response and medical costs.

As of June 30th, the cost of not buckling up is thirty dollars although those fines could run as high as $120. with added court costs and fees.

Troopers will no longer need a reason to pull over a driver in order to ticket them for not wearing a seatbelt.
By implementing the new seatbelt law before July 1st the state will receive 35 million federal dollars.
The money will be used to make Florida's roads safer and to spread the word about buckling up.

A car accident is one of the most dangerous things the average person will come in contact with during their life.
