Click It or Ticket It Campaign Starts | Pinellas County Car Accident Lawyer

What: Click It or Ticket in Florida

Who: Vehicles who occupants are not wearing seatbelts!

Today is the offical kick -off of the "Click It or Ticket" program in Florida. Many local and state police officers will be out looking for people who are not wearing their seatbelts during the campaign which ends on March 15th. The St. Petersburg Times reports, " Police will be stationed at major intersections and school zones ticketing drivers and passengers, including children under 18, who do not buckle up."  Make sure to be wearing your seatbelt, not only because of the "Click it or Ticket" campaign, but for your general safety if you are involved in a crash.

As the article also reports, "safety belts are 80 percent effective in reducing fatalities in light trucks during rollover crashes." In the event of a auto accident, seat belts also help occupants of the vehicle remain in the vehicle, to avoid being ejected during a crash.
